The preparation course RHCE (RedHat Certified Engineer) prepares the participant for the certification exam offered by RedHat Linux. Course 100% hands-on, providing a solid foundation of practical knowledge.

›› Target Audience

Professionals already working or who want to get the RHCE (RedHat Certified Engineer), support analysts, university students in the areas of IT, telecommunications and engineering.

›› Prerequisites

User-level experience with any computer system, including: use of keyboard and mouse, use the menus and use of any graphical user interface.

I. RedHat: the basis of management

- General Principles on the Use of the Linux Basic: Access to the system, changing users and editing text files.
- Running Commands and Getting Help: How to use the printed and online documentation to enhance your experience.
- Exploring the File System: Understanding the locations of important directories on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux, accessing directories from the command line and use the graphical Nautilus browser.
- Users, Groups and Permissions: Creating and setting permissions on files and directories. Introduction to bash Heritage and Features.
- Using the bash Shell: Tips and tricks for the default shell of Red Hat Enterprise Linux to work for you. Topics include tab completion, history and introduction to shell scripting
- I / O Standards and Pipes: Tips on output redirection of programs and files.
- Tools for Text Processing: Introduction to some of the most practical utilities of Red Hat Enterprise Linux for word processing, including grep, cut, sed, sort, diff and patch.
- Vim: a rich text editor: How to get the most powerful and flexible text editor vim.
- Tools System Configuration: Using the configuration tools graphical and text of Red Hat Enterprise Linux to manage the date and time settings, and network printing.
- Research and Management Processes: Introduction, conclusion and scheduling program executions on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
- Configuring the Bash Shell: A discussion about the use of shell variables and scripts to customize the command-line environment.
- Search and Processing Files: Detailed coverage of using the find command and their respective utilities for location and other actions on files based on arbitrary criteria.
- Network Clients: Overview of the networking tools available on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, web browsers to email clients and diagnostic utilities.

II. RedHat: Network Services

- Install Red Hat Linux interactively and with Kickstart.
- Control common system hardware.
- Create and maintain the Linux filesystem.
- Configure an NFS client and autofs.
- Samba Server Configuration.
- Setting up encryption systems using LUKS.
- Understand system and service initialization.
- Perform user and group administration.
- Integrate a workstation with an existing network running common network services.
- Configure a workstation as a client to the services NIS, DNS and DHCP.
- Administer the Linux printing subsystem.
- Automate tareas with at, cron and anacron.
- Maintain and interpret system logs.
- Make a backup of file systems to tape and tar archive.
- Install, update, query and remove software packages with RPM.
- Update the Linux kernel via RPM.
- Configure the X Window System and GNOME desktop environment.
- Perform basic administration performance, memory and process.
- Configure basic host security.
- Perform basic problem resolution.
- Fundamental aspects of LAN / WAN or equivalent; Internetworking with TCP / IP or equivalent.
